A member of the Royal Society, he was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian award, in 1954 by the Government of India. The class of particles according to Bose data was named bosons by Paul Drake. A polymath, he had wide-ranging interests in various fields including physics, mathematics, chemistry, biology, mineralogy, philosophy, art, literature, and music. He has served on several research and development committees in sovereign India. Satyendra Nath Bose is a noted Bengali-Indian physicist and mathematician, best known for his work with Albert Einstein on the famous Bose-Einstein–Concentrate and the names of the famous boson particles.
